General properties

STOP DAMP protects the stone floor from general stains, moisture and rising humidity. STOP DAMP helps to prevent the appearance of efflorescence and humidity salts on marble, granite and natural stone floor surfaces. The treatment is highly recommended on white marbles such as: Carrara, Thassos and Quarzite as it will also protect from yellow marks and shadows caused by iron oxidation from the tiles bedding. STOP DAMP will also protect the stone surface from stains such as of oil, grease, dirt, food, mould and mildew. The anti stain action is due to its technologically advanced formulation, protecting deep inside the stone pores for a long period of time. STOP DAMP does not change the natural aspect of the stone or to the sanded grout surface and it will not create any type of film or plastic effect, while allowing vapour to escape. UV resistant.

Directions for use

New installations after grouting Old or existing floors:Ensure tiles, adhesive beds and grouts are completely dry before sealing (10-15 days). Proceed to wet mop the floor using TERGON and water, (see TDS for dilutions ratios) rinse, so to remove all surface dirt or existing salts or efflorescence. Apply by cloth, lambs wool applicator or spray one coat of STOP DAMP uniformly on a clean and dry surface. If applied by spray, remove any air bubbles from surface using a clean cotton cloth or lambs wool applicator. Allow a curing period of 3/4 hours before removing any dry product excess from surface using white nylon pad and buffer. We suggest to allow 12/24 hours, curing time before resuming normal use of the treated surface.New installations before grouting (wet process):Proceed to prepare and apply a thin set of adhesive or sand and cement mixture for tile bedding, following the indications of the adhesive supplier. Apply tiles, taping firmly down into the bedding and allow tiles to set (see TDS of adhesive for curing times). Apply one coat of STOP DAMP by cloth, lambs wool applicator or spray uniformly on the non grouted tile surface. If applied by spray, remove any air bubbles from surface using a clean cotton cloth or lambs wool applicator. We suggest to allow 12/24 hours, curing time before proceeding to fill in the joints using a squeegee or pliable straight edge. Clean off excess grout using sponge and water. On completely dry floor wet mop surface using TERGON diluted in water so to remove completely all grout shadows and product residue.

Maintenance

For routine cleaning we suggest the use of our hygienic detergent CLEAN STONE (24).

Where to apply

The product is applied on internal or external polished marble, granite and natural stone surfaces. STOP DAMP is highly recommended for areas in constant contact with water such as; showers, saunas and Turkish baths.

Coverage

Indicative coverage applying one coat of the product on surfaces of medium absorption is 10-15 m² / lt. (100-160 sq.ft. / lt.) On surfaces of low absorption is 20-25 m² / lt. (220-260 sq.ft. / lt.)
